Baljit Singh

Baljit Singh is a Professor and Associate Dean (Research) at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, the University of Saskatchewan. He obtained a BVSc&AH and an MVSc from the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, a PhD from the University of Guelph (Canada), and completed postdoctoral training at the Texas A&M University and the Columbia University in New York. He is licensed Veterinarian in Canada. Baljit’s research program is in the areas of lung inflammation, infectious disease, and nanomedicines. He has trained more than 80 post-graduate, undergraduate and postdoctoral students and published ~85 research papers. He is currently Section Editor (Immunology/Inflammation) of Cell and Tissue Research and an editor of Advances in Anatomy, Embryology and Cell Biology. Baljit teaches veterinary anatomy, and graduate courses in inflammation and lung biology, and is a recipient of the 3M Canadian National Teaching Fellowship (2009), Canada’s highest teaching honor. He was the President of the American Association of Veterinary Anatomists (2005-2008) and is currently a member of the Council on Education of American-Canadian Veterinary Medical Associations.
